Flowers Through the Concrete | Editorial Shoot

_ _ _ _

When you think of 90s streetwear brands, your mind probably flashes to bold graphics, retro fits, and effortless rebellion. But at Bullyboy, we’re constantly reworking the past to build the future. Our latest drop—a line of unisex ringer tees—is no exception. And to launch the collection, we styled a shoot that speaks to the soul of streetwear today: bold, gritty, vulnerable.

Shot in a forgotten alleyway behind the chaos of Cape Town, the campaign plays with juxtaposition—the concrete edge of urban decay and the softness within. Think cracked walls, steel scaffolding, rusted textures… now picture two masculine-presenting models in cropped, fitted ringer tees, holding bouquets of delicate flowers. Masculinity and vulnerability, toughness and beauty—all in one frame. It’s our version of romance.

This shoot is a visual extension of what Bullyboy represents: a refusal to conform, a desire to disrupt, and a belief that streetwear in South Africa doesn’t have to fit into anyone’s mold. We're not just pushing tees—we're pushing ideas.

Why Ringer Tees?

Ringer tees have been a quiet staple in the underrated streetwear scene for decades. With contrast trims on the collar and sleeves, they call back to 90s skate culture, vintage Americana, and rebellious youth movements. But in 2025, we’re giving them a new shape—literally. Fitted silhouettes, cropped hems, and genderless styling turn the classic into a conversation.

These tees aren’t just for your wardrobe. They’re for your statement.

From the Streets, For the Streets

Our shoot location wasn't polished—and that was the point. In the gritty heart of Cape Town, surrounded by graffiti, dust, and decay, the beauty of our models and their flowers shone even brighter. That’s the power of streetwear: to make the everyday feel cinematic.

Each tee is constructed with premium fabric and dyed to match the moods of the streets—stormy greys, faded blacks, and off-whites that echo worn-out concrete and dusty sunsets. Whether you're skating, shooting content, or pulling up to your next creative collab, these ringer tees fit like they belong.

So, You Wanna Start a Streetwear Brand?

We get this question a lot. How do you start a streetwear brand that feels authentic in an already-saturated scene? Our answer is simple: be real, be raw, and build a world—not just a product. With every drop, Bullyboy tells a story. From our mini indoor skatepark to collabs with local artists and musicians, we’re more than a brand—we’re a movement.
