Welcome to Bullyboy. We invite you to escape the ordinary and step into a way of living shaped by individuality, rebellion, and creative expression. Founded in 2021 and rooted in Cape Town, South Africa, Bullyboy is more than a skate and streetwear brand. It’s a mindset built around resisting conformity and choosing your own direction.

THE ORIGIN

In late 2020, 👹, the founder of Bullyboy, was online shopping for a skateboard but couldn’t find grip tape that matched his taste. South African shops only offered childish superhero designs, so he decided to create his own. He found a factory with a 100-piece minimum, kept 10, and planned to sell the rest. What began as a personal holiday project quickly grew into something much bigger.

NAME AND LAUNCH

He needed a name, and after weeks of brainstorming, Bullyboy was born. It was gritty yet playful, symbolizing the rough texture of grip tape while the double "B" gave it a punchy, almost comforting sound. This contrast captured the brand’s essence: raw, rebellious, and unorthodox. Starting with graphic grip tape, already controversial in skateboarding, instantly set Bullyboy apart, and that was the point.

OUR MISSION

In 2022, Bullyboy cemented its identity with the slogan “Escape the Ordinary.” Since then, the brand has grown beyond grip tape into skateboards, a full apparel line, and regular community events. We sponsor contests, support a growing skate team, and collaborate with creatives from graffiti artists to videographers. Everyone skates, contributes, and pushes each other forward. We are not here to blend in. We are here to build something unforgettable.

MARKETING & CULTURE

👹 always believed in guerrilla marketing. Inspired by Shepard Fairey, Basquiat, and Banksy, Bullyboy spread through massive wheat-pasted posters across Cape Town, hitting skate parks, Bree Street, Loop Street, Observatory, and beyond. From spray-painted cars to fake missing dog flyers with QR codes and viral videos, everything was designed to catch people off guard and leave a mark. Bullyboy is more than a brand. It is a creative rebellion, skate culture reimagined, and for those who want to escape the ordinary.
