Bullyboy x Lexa Gorlei: A Streetwear Photoshoot on the Streets of Cape Town

At Bullyboy, we’ve always been about pushing boundaries—whether it’s in skate culture, streetwear, or the way we tell stories through fashion. So when the opportunity came to collaborate with rising Cape Town fashion influencer Lexa Gorlei, we knew we had to make it happen. Lexa is known for her girlypop aesthetic, effortlessly putting together bold and feminine outfits that capture attention. The contrast between her style and Bullyboy’s raw, grungy energy set the stage for a unique and unfiltered streetwear photoshoot in the heart of Cape Town.

The Vision: Clash of Aesthetics

The idea was simple—merge two opposing styles and let the streets tell the rest of the story. Lexa, with her bright, curated outfits, became the perfect counterpart to Bullyboy’s dark, underground skate-inspired aesthetic. This juxtaposition wasn’t just about clothing; it was about blending two different worlds and seeing what magic could be created in the moment.

The Shoot: Candid Energy Meets Street Grit

We hit some of Cape Town’s most iconic and grungy backdrops—alleyways covered in graffiti, textured city walls, and quiet side streets that captured the essence of both urban decay and effortless style. The raw, unstaged nature of the shoot allowed us to capture Lexa in her element, rocking Bullyboy pieces in a way that felt fresh and unexpected.

The mix of structured femininity and oversized grunge created a balance that felt authentic—chunky sneakers paired with baggy skate pants, delicate accessories mixed with rugged outerwear, and flowy silhouettes contrasted against sharp, graphic-heavy pieces. Every shot felt spontaneous, and that was the goal—to keep it real, raw, and unmistakably Cape Town.

Why This Shoot Matters

Bullyboy has always been about escaping the ordinary, and this shoot embodied that spirit. By working with Lexa, we showcased that streetwear isn’t confined to a single aesthetic—it’s about attitude, individuality, and expression. The energy of Cape Town’s streets, combined with Lexa’s fashion-forward vision, gave this shoot a life of its own, proving that style isn’t about fitting in—it’s about standing out.
